On 17 March 2018, Nutella-filled glazed doughnuts officially arrived in Singapore. Get yours now at the nearest outlet at your location as they are here for a limited time only. They are available at all of the chain’s nine stores islandwide, while stocks last.
The doughnuts are made using Krispy Kreme’s signature glazed ring doughnuts, which come with a Nutella core throughout the ring. The doughnut costs $3.30 per piece, and there is a bundle promotion of Buy 10, Get 2 Free. It costs S$2.60 for the original glazed rings and S$2.95 for the assorted variety doughnuts.
More than 2,500 pieces of the chocolate hazelnut spread-filled rings were sold as of 8:30 pm on 17 March 2018, Krispy Kreme said in response to queries from Channel NewsAsia.
On the launch date, Krispy Kreme Singapore Facebook page’s updates showed that the doughnuts had sold out at two of its nine outlets – Northpoint and Changi Airport – by 1:00 pm. This is prove that the latest nutella-filled doughnut is highly successful in Singapore!
The well-received doughnuts were also sold out at another four outlets – Jurong Point, Paragon, Vivo City and Suntec City, two hours later.
Replenishments were made at five outlets in the late afternoon, but by 8:10 pm, the nutella-filled doughnut rings were only available at Vivo City.
“Following the overwhelming response and demand, we immediately rushed to produce additional doughnuts,” Krispy Kreme told Channel NewsAsia.
“We will be producing in greater quantities from tomorrow onwards to meet the overwhelming demand,” it added.
Krispy Kreme has said on its Facebook page that the Nutella-filled rings will continue to be available for at least the coming week.
“We are taking note of our fans’ demands and reception, and trying to have the product available for as long as we can,” said Krispy Kreme.
“Our doughnuts will continue to be available for at least the coming week (and hopefully longer) so we hope that you can get your hands on them soon,” it added.
First launched in the Dominican Republic, disheartened fans worldwide have been calling for Krispy Kreme to offer the nutella-filled doughnuts internationally. To the fans’ delight, Krispy Kreme listened and acted on it.
Founded in 1937 in North Carolina, Krispy Kreme has more than 1,300 retail stores in 31 countries.
Its first outlet in Singapore opened in the basement of Tangs Orchard in October 2013, and the second store opened its doors in Income at Raffles in 2014. It later welcomed more outlets in areas like Suntec City Mall, Paragon and VivoCity.
Some of the flavours it has include Reese’s Peanut Butter, Speculoos Cookie Butter and New York Cheesecake.
