If you’ve already forgotten the highly anticipated, hype and grand arrival of the highly anticipated chocolate pie? You can refresh your memory here:
Unfortunately, it’s time to bid farewell to it now.
From 8th March 2018, comments have surfaced on McDonald’s promotional video saying that the chocolate pie is no longer on sale. This comes after two weeks since it was first introduced.
On 12th March 2018, McDonald has also officially came out to verify that the chocolate pie is out of stock, due to the overwhelming response and it being well received by customers islandwide.
McDonald’s explained in another comment: “As it (chocolate pie) is a promotional item, it won’t be coming back anytime soon”.
Mcdonald’s added that it will instead offer their apple pie and red bean pie at only $1 each for a limited time period.
The Chocolate pie, consisting of molten lava chocolate, was introduced along with other seasonal offerings like the Fish & Fries on 1st March 2018 and cost $1.40 each.
There have been mixed views for the chocolate pie, which was highly popular among countries like Japan, Korea and Thailand. While the version here in Singapore is slightly different from other countries’ as the ingredients are halal, one consumer who’d tried the one in Korea said the taste is comparable.
This is not the first time something like this has taken place. Last year, McDonald’s Nasi Lemak promotional burger, was also officially declared sold out in Singapore in under two weeks since it was first launched.
